DIY Unicorn Party Ideas: Budget-Friendly Centerpieces
Creating captivating centerpieces for your unicorn-themed party is easier than you might think. With a few simple materials, you can craft charming centerpieces that will transport your guests into a mystical realm. Here’s a budget-friendly idea to get you started:
DIY Dollar Store Unicorn Party Centerpieces
These unicorn party centerpieces were super easy to make and really affordable, as I found all of my supplies at the Dollar Store. Follow the instructions below to recreate these Unicorn Horn Centerpieces.
Materials needed:
- Tissue pom poms (in your preferred colors, this link is for purple, blue and pink)
- Felt sheets (I purchased a pack of pastel colors)
- Fabric Scissors
- Hot Glue & Glue Gun
- Party Hats or Glitter Foam Sheet (for your horn)
Instructions:
- Start by opening up your tissue paper pouf packages and carefully unfurl the tissue paper (do this slowly and carefully so as not to tear your tissue paper)
- Cut ear shapes from your felt sheets. I used white for the outer ear and a contrasting color for the inner ears.
- Attach your inner and outer unicorn ear shapes using hot glue. Press firmly to adhere.
- Next, get your party hat ready, or cut a horn from your glitter foam sheet.
- Once you have your ears and horn ready to go, you’ll attach them to your tissue paper pouf by hot gluing the tissue paper to either side in the center.
- Give your pouf a final fluff and voila!
To complement these unicorn horn centerpieces, I made small floral arrangements using small glass jars, flower foam and faux pink, purple and blue flowers from the Dollar Store. I put one each on either side of the unicorn horn centerpiece for a cute and affordable unicorn party table decoration.

Materials needed:
- Printable “Pin the Horn on the Unicorn” poster
- Cardstock paper for printing at home (though I recommend printing through an online printer like FedEx or VistaPrint so you can enlarge this to full size)
- Double-sided tape or sticky putty
- Blindfold
Instructions:
- Print the poster and horns either at home or through an online printer
- Attach the poster to a wall at an appropriate height for the children to participate comfortably.
- Cut out your horns and affix double-sided tape or sticky putty to the back of each horn.
- Blindfold the participants, spin them around gently, and watch as they try to pin their horns in the correct spot on the unicorn.
- Award a small prize to the child who pins their horn closest to the designated spot.

DIY Rainbow Star Wand Favors
What goes perfect with unicorn horn headbands? Star wands. Now, you can purchase these rainbow star wand favors on Amazon, OR, you can easily make these yourself by following the below instructions from A Pumpkin and a Princess Blog.
Materials:
- Colored ribbon (choose colors of your preference)
- Wooden dowels or BBQ sticks
- Star Stencil
- White glitter craft paper
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun or craft glue
Instructions:
- Begin by cutting the colored ribbon into desired lengths. Typically, a length of around 12-14 inches works well for a wand.
- Fold your ribbon in half and tie at the center.
- Glue the center of your tied ribbon to one end of your wooden dowel.
- Next, using a star stencil, cut two stars per wand out of your glitter paper.
- Dab glue at each point of one star and in the middle (the non-glitter side).
- Sandwich the end of your dowel that you glued your ribbon to between two star shapes
- Press down firmly to allow the glue to adhere.
- Repeat steps 4-6 for each wand. Allow the glue to dry completely before using the star wands.
